Club Tread – Treadfest Mountain Bike Race

Treadfest Volunteers Needed

Guys, this is from one of our Roosters, Guido.   Apparently Club Tread is going to donate some cash to the Jaycees in exchange for some volunteers to help with this years TreadFest Mountain Bike Race.      

‘Hello Gents,
 
I need volunteers for the upcoming TREADFEST mountain bike race May 18 at the Grand Geneva.
 
In return for your help Club Tread, the host of the race, will donate cash to the JC’s.   You can use that for beer or more beer.
 
As a volunteer you will receive a TREADFEST t-shirt, lunch & snacks, an appreciation party later in the year and a chance to hang out and enjoy great mountain biking with friends at one of the best mountain bike courses in the state.
 
You have a choice of work areas:
registration – help racers sign up for events
Finish Line/Timing: remove “class” tag from racers at finish/guide racers at finish chute/help with Timing
Course Marshal: on course signaling racers of dangerous areas…sharp corner, drop off, blind corners
 
Ker, Bean, Twyning and others have helped in the past and enjoyed the event.   Ask ’em how they faired manning a corner and helping save a dude who smoked a tree with his shoulder.   Photos attached….
 
If you show you may see roostered JC’s on the course….in the past we’ve seen Tom Macone, Ed Gilbertson, Pat Martin, and myself battling bar end to bar end while racing.   Perfect chance for you to throw insults as we struggle up the hills.
 
Volunteer Times:
Pre Race Saturday May 17th       noon to 6pm
Race day May 18th         7:30am -12:30pm and/or 12:00pm – 4:30pm.
